EVA (Exploited Voices' Allies) is a group of women, men, and youth pursuing the abolition of prostitution under the leadership of former sex-industry women.
EVA's members have developed their analyses of prostitution under the guidance of formerly prostituted women. We acknowledge that prostitution is a product of:
EVA's members recognize prostitution as a form of violence against women and children (particularly indigenous women and children) and a barrier to global women's equality.
In addition to relying on the expertise of experiential women, EVA's members are encouraged to keep up to date with prostitution related research from both sides of the "Nordic Model" versus full decriminalization debate.
EVA's members support:
- the decriminalization of prostituted people
- the criminalization of the purchase of sexual services
We understand that this model of law cannot be successful without a substantial increase in social provisions for women and children in Canada and a radical change in our approach to poverty.
